South Coast Improvement Company (SCIC), a design-build general contractor serving New England and the Mid-Atlantic states, recently hired Herby Gaston as a site supervisor. Gaston comes to the Marion, Mass.-based contractor after working in a similar role for G. Greene Construction.
As a site supervisor, Gaston will be onsite at SCIC new construction and renovation projects throughout the region. In addition to overseeing the day-to-day work at specific SCIC projects, Gaston’s responsibilities will include oversight of all safety compliance. That includes enforcement of Covid procedures.
“The site supervisor has always been the key position on any new construction or reno. With the current pandemic, it’s become even more critical to have someone who runs a job site that’s safe for our team and the staff and residents at the facilities where we do work,” said Tom Quinlan, president of South Coast Improvement, Inc. “Herby’s education and experience give us a seasoned professional to run safe and productive job site.”

Gaston is a graduate of Northeastern University and holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. A licensed Construction Supervisor, he holds an OSHA 30 certification and a Compliance Inspector of Storm water Certificate.
“I’ve known Tom for a while and was very impressed with the company and the projects they have done and are working on now,” said Gaston. “I also like that it’s a growing but still has that small company feel.”
Married, Gaston resides in Brockton, Massachusetts with wife Yvette and their three children. He’s also an active volunteer with the Church of God of Boston.
