South Coast Improvement Company (SCIC) continues to grow its long-standing relationship with one of the heavyweights in senior living by performing a Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) System replacement facility in Falmouth, Massachusetts.

SCIC has been hired to replace the aging, existing VRF system in a densely occupied and HSE-mindful environment.

The legacy rooftop VRF units are being removed and the new outdoor VRF units are being craned in place one at a time. This is happening through a four-phased approach.

The process includes:

  • Hoisting the New VRF System into Place
  • Connect Vertical Pipework to Integrate into the Entire System
  • Testing and Balancing each System
  • Repairing all Walls and Ceiling Openings
  • Relocating the Residents Back into their Units

This process is occurring on 3 floors of the facility, in a strategically phased approach.

In addition to making the necessary wall and ceiling openings, we are removing the existing refrigerant pipework, indoor branch boxes, air handlers, and heat pumps.

We started this project just after Memorial Day and have completed 3 of the 4 phases, with project completion expected in early October 2023.
