South Coast Improvement Company SCIC is proud to announce the successful completion of a Variable Refrigerant Flow VRF System replacement project at Woodbriar Place in Falmouth, Massachusetts.

We replaced the aging VRF system in a fully occupied senior living and HSE-mindful environment. The meticulous process involved removing the legacy rooftop VRF units and installing new outdoor VRF units through a carefully planned four-phased approach.

In addition to installing new VRF units, SCIC also managed the removal of existing refrigerant pipework, indoor branch boxes, air handlers, and heat pumps. This comprehensive approach ensured that the senior living community now benefits from an upgraded and efficient VRF system, enhancing the comfort and well-being of its residents.

This project falls in the flawless execution column. It ran like clockwork against the 15-week master project schedule. It was completed on time and budget.

The project phases included:

  • Hoisting the new VRF system into place
  • Connecting vertical pipework to integrate it into the entire system
  • Testing and balancing each system
  • Repairing all walls and ceiling openings
  • Relocating the residents back into their units

This intricate process unfolded over three floors of the facility in a strategically phased manner.
