South Coast Improvement Company (SCI), a design-build general contractor serving New England and the Mid-Atlantic states, recently finished construction of South Coast Health’s new Urgent Care Center at 450 William S. Canning Blvd, in Fall River, MA and opened for business on July 10. This represents the fifth Urgent Care South Coast Improvement has built for South Coast Health, a not-for-profit, community-based health system with multiple access points, offering an integrated continuum of health services throughout southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

Urgent Care Centers are equipped with staff and equipment to treat a wide range of medical situations—e.g. broken bones, contusions, cuts, burns, animal bites, etc. Urgent Care centers provide patient with less serious injuries an option to the emergency room at the hospital.

At the July 10 grand opening ceremony, South Coast Health President and CEO Keith A. Hovan noted the success of the Urgent Care Center model.

“Our Urgent Care Centers are especially important now that we are living in an age where our patients have truly become health care consumers. Patients want high quality care when they need it. Our urgent care centers deliver on those expectations.”
